There are a lot of facts to this case; it would take a lot more pages then just three or four pages to tell you everything about this case, and the way the investigation was ran. There are three detectives that played a major role in this case. First there is Larry Sneed and Roy Parham. Roy Parham retired from the major crimes back in 1995. Larry Sneed retired in 1999 He tried running for sheriff and he lost. Then you have Gary Gaskill, and then you have Sheriff John Cupp. Gary Gaskill was fired in 1988, for drinking and then sometime later he was hired back, and then John Cupp put him on this case after Roy Parham retired.
In November of 1998, Gaskill was called to a scene. He arrived at the scene drunk an officer at the scene reported it to his commanding officer, the officer was told to take Gaskill downtown to run some test, but this order was overturned by Sheriff John Cupp, he told them to take him home. This got out to the media the next day, so John Cupp had to do something, so he put him on leave with pay. Now you know if that was you or me, we would have been arrested and taken to jail.
And one more fact about Gary Gaskill on April 25 of 2001 it was reported that Chattanooga Police had recovered four guns from Gaskill's home a shotgun and three rifles that had been checked out of the property room by Gaskill to be returned to their owners in 1996. It was said that the DA is looking into this but we all know he will never be charged. And to this day he has never been charged. (Just a note on Gaskill, It was told by an ex officer that he homeless in Florida.
Then there is Lee Davis, who by the way was Gaskill's lawyer, he was the special prosecutor on this case. He was hired by the victims’ families for $1. Everyone in this case was up for re-election. He was fired by DA Bill Cox, who at the bond hearing accused Frank of shooting out his neighbors light. Frank did not shoot out the light; he turned it off with a spot light. This neighbor, Barbra Corfitzon was a spy for the detectives, and we know that from taped telephone conversations.
Here is some recent news on Lee Davis. An article in the Chattanoogan titled FBI Agent Claims Attorney Tipped off Brock. The article said that Lee Davis tipped off Brock of Brock bonding that his (Lee Davis) client was cooperating with authorities. So Lee Davis interfered in a federal investigation. If I am not mistaken this is a crime, is it not
Lee Davis in December of 05 was a defense lawyer for a cop accused of rape. After the man was convicted, Lee Davis said this "It was "blatantly unfair" that the former officer was charged with rape after the state had destroyed key portions of the evidence."
How can someone be so two faced. Casteel was charged with murder in 97 for something that happened in 88. Yes I know the statute of limitations does not run out on murder. All the blood that supposedly found at the gate was destroyed all the clothing recovered from the bodies were handled with bare hands in court by DA Bill Cox. So all evidence was destroyed before they falsely accused Casteel with murder
Then you have the judge Doug Myers, who gave panties to his female staff, and also has told an accused rapist to get a date.
Through this whole trial Earl Smock’s family was not there and they have never been involved in any way with the trial.
I would like to say a few things about Frank Casteel. First off he is my father, and he has made mistakes in his life, just like we all have, his one big mistake was Marie Hill. But seeing another woman does not make him a MURDERER!
Frank Casteel was, and is a good father; he always made sure his family had everything they needed. He is an educated man; he has worked many years to get where he could give his family a good life.
When Frank made the deal to buy the property that was a dream come true, but he had to give it up because of this. The so called law enforcement has taken everything away. If the detectives had done their job, the real perpetrator might be in jail right now.
Also one more thing I would like to say, this case is long from being over, Frank Casteel will walk out of prison an innocent man, just the way he walked in. Justice has not been done in the murders of these three men.
